Note to Self about Shopping on Seollal - DON'T

Being essentially retards, we chose to drop 180,000 won at Costco on the weekend before Seollal, the Korean New Year. This was a horrible mistake, as every one in Seoul was doing the same thing so they could be stocked up for the 4-day holiday and the inevitable onslaught of relatives.

This cattle call was the line for receipts



And it became so crowded that at the entrance, staff members were barricading aisles with shopping carts to force people to follow a kind of clockwise, maze approach to traffic.
