from you description, i believe it is the speckled lavender yellow-legged bog walker. and for HYS: it probably tastes like soggy algaefied chicken (not that i know what that tastes like)-AF
I have heard they have too many bones, so I can not say for sure what they taste like. Sorry. Oh, and it looks sorta like the night heron thing posted before. The thing on the left looks more like a common egret than JL Sea Gull. HYS
